A few words from the National Arboretum…
Designed for children of all ages, the award-winning POD Playground is based on the idea of seeds as the beginning of life in the forest.
The design includes giant acorns floating in the sky and enormous banksia cones nestled on the ground. A large net fort, nest swings, music-making instruments and a musical bridge offer creative learning experiences.
The steel gate entrance of the Pod Playground, shows interpretations of many different types of Australian animals and plants, including wombats, emus, kangaroos, kookaburras, echidnas, lady beetles, platypi, bilbies, possums and the extinct Tasmanian tiger.
A truly unique and adventurous playground designed to create wonder, imagination and enchantment. The playground encourages spontaneity in play allowing children to climb, explore, learn and have fun, all surrounded by spectacular views.
