This book is dedicated to Amber Dawn Field (2012-2017)
Amber was born with Complex Congenital Heart Disease and battled through many heart surgeries in her short life. She was in Kindergarten at St Damien’s Primary School in Mandurah when she grew her angel wings.
“When a child dies, hearts are broken, especially the hearts of those closest to that child. Amber Dawn positively touched so many lives in her own short life. Grief can be eased if hope can be found, and this book about Amber Dawn Princess Warrior is all about hope. Hope that the things that Amber loved — her family, nature, and being a kind and caring soul — can continue to make our world a little better through the unique magic of story. This project created by a loving parent, a special teacher and a creative artist from Amber’s own community shows just how important human connectedness is in this strange thing we call life. To share this optimistic intention — to make sure Amber Dawn is never forgotten, while raising much-needed funds for research to help prevent and heal heart disease in children — is, quite simply, fabulous. Well done ladies.”

Jenny Dowie was Amber’s Kindergarten teacher at St Damien’s Catholic Primary School in 2017, the year she flew to heaven. Amber holds a special place in Jenny’s heart and she was compelled to write this book as a loving memory to Amber and her family.
Belinda Joynes was the Education Assistant in the same class. She is a renowned artist in the Mandurah area. Together they collaborated to bring a special meaning to Amber’s short life and to highlight the message for children worldwide to care for the environment in which they live.
