A note from the school:
The Early Childhood Nature Playground at Kulin DHS began as a big idea in a small country school. The driving force behind our playground was our Early Childhood teacher who formed a committee with interested parents and community members. The process from first idea to first play took around 6 months. We sourced everything locally and had a very minimal expenditure (the plants/vegetation were our only cost) as lots of the resources/equipment was donated. We are very lucky to live in a town where our local shire prepared the space for us and some clever Dads laid the concrete path. We held a busy bee on a Saturday where families came along and helped to build structures (fort, tepee, mud kitchen), brought in logs and rocks from farms on loaders, fenced, laid retic, planted the plants, painted and finally… we PLAYED!
