Every parent wants their child to grow up happy, healthy, strong, kind and resilient. This pocket book aims to guide parents in their everyday decision-making to raise kids who are just that. In our ever-changing, uncertain world it is important to understand what resilience is and how to build that in our children.
The capacity for building coping and enabling abilities, as well as help-seeking strategies and tangible life skills will help your children navigate the world ahead. The book condenses and updates material from Maggie Dent’s bestselling 2008 book, Real Kids in an Unreal World (2nd edition out now). It outlines 10 key building blocks for children birth-12.
We can build our children’s strengths–one building block at a time–and we can even start before birth.
Praise for Real Kids:
“Real Kids in an Unreal World is a gem of wisdom, plain and simple. The book would appear to have been published from the ‘tree of knowledge’ and is a very good guidebook to keeping kids normal in today’s fast paced world.” – Mamamia.com.au

“You can do this,” was how I felt upon reading this book. Some parenting/teaching books leave the reader feeling as though the task at hand is insurmountable. Thank you for not doing this. Thank you for the practical and doable content.
